DISTRIBUTION OF SALINITY AND TEMPERATURE IN MUSI ESTUARY: USING VERTICAL SALINITY GRADIENT FOR ESTUARY CLASSIFICATION ZONE

چکیده

Musi estuary is the mouth of Telang and rivers directly adjacent to Bangka Strait. During flood (ebb) we see distribution salinity increases (decreases) which known through vertical using CTD. The TS diagram used water mass characteristics study area. Data-Interpolating Variational Analysis (DIVA) method interpolate visualize data from spatial temperature, density data. classification zone identified based on value salinity, considers exchange circulating at ebb. significantly affected by proven graded salinity. While temperature does not change with depth, indicates that in lower than upstream ocean areas. high enters towards river further Salinity ranges 0.5 30 psu temperatures between 29 33 oC horizontal sections. pattern was identified, consisting three zones representing conditions area, namely Polyhaline, Mesohaline, Olygohaline zones.
